Round Rock, Texas –The IWFL is pleased to announce it has awarded a new team membership to the Bakersfield Bombers. The Bombers will begin play as an expansion team in 2016.
“We are pleased to welcome the Bombers to the league. Their enthusiasm for creating a competitive and sportsmanlike football team is refreshing,” said Kezia Disney, IWFL Chief Operating Officer, “Everyone in the division is looking forward to playing Bakersfield this coming spring.”
The Bakersfield Bombers, owned by mother and daughter team Arlene Aninion and Brittany Rivera, will offer women an opportunity to learn to play full tackle football and compete at the national level. The team will play a full schedule in their inaugural season against teams from California, Nevada and Arizona.
“We are so excited to bring this opportunity to the women in our community,” stated Arlene Aninion, Bakersfield Bombers Team Co-Owner and IWFL Delegate.
Co owner Brittany Rivera has played semi-professional football before and brings her experience and passion for the game to this new team.
