Austin, Texas – The Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) is pleased to announce its partnership with the 2016 IWFL World Champions ¬– the Utah Falconz, to host the 2017 Championship Events. The well-established success of this league offers all IWFL member teams an opportunity to be included in the longest running women’s tackle football event in North America.
“We are excited to work with the Utah Falconz organization on this historic event. There has never been a women’s football championship held in this region of the United States and we are thrilled to be the first,” Said Laurie Frederick, IWFL President/CEO. “We look forward to enjoying a spectacular experience in Salt Lake City!”
Utah has experienced record-setting success and growth in women’s athletics over the last few years, mirroring the nation’s energy and excitement for outstanding women’s football. Additionally, Salt Lake City’s dedicated fan-base (and great summer weather) combined with serious gridiron competition from IWFL athletes, create the perfect trifecta of success for the weekend. All games and ancillary activities will take place over three days, July 20 – 22, 2017. Events will feature the Affiliate and Founders Bowl Games, the All-Star Game (featuring top athletes from all over North America), and a culminating IWFL World Championship game held at Cottonwood High School.
